Here is TYPE inscribed for the front page of my article. I have reduced the thickness of each glyph (?) to make them more paper clip-like. I’m not as keen on this design as my pancake font idea, especially since having now googled it, I discover lots of versions of paper clip fonts. However I am not having another go at the pancake font as I am still smarting from the memories of the burns I got doing it last time.

When I taught graphics one of the most important parts of font design was to be very aware of the unique feature of every character so as not to risk ambiguity whilst maintaining consistency. Quirky often came at the expense of elegance but the bottom line was pal ways readability. All good fun, though it was an area which only the really zealous graphic students relished. One of my favourites was an elephant font.
